The highly anticipated Cybertruck from Tesla has been making waves in the automotive industry, and for good reason. With its futuristic design and impressive capabilities, it’s no wonder that people are eager to learn more about its specifications. In this blog post, we will be focusing on the dimensions of the Cybertruck, using information sourced from the Cybertruck Owners Club. Note these are not from Tesla directly and we expect to find out these details on the official cybertruck release date on Nov. 30th, 2023.
According to the leaked official specs, the overall length of the 2024 Cybertruck is 18.6 feet (5.67 meters), while the overall width (excluding mirrors) measures at 79.9 inches (2.03 meters). The overall height, in the medium setting, stands at 1.79 meters.
When it comes to the wheelbase, the Cybertruck boasts a length of 143 inches (3.63 meters). These dimensions contribute to the Cybertruck’s unique and robust appearance, setting it apart from traditional pickup trucks.
In terms of weight, the Cybertruck offers two options: the 2-motor and the 3-motor variants. The curb weight for the 2-motor Cybertruck is 6,670 lbs (3,026 kg), while the 3-motor variant weighs slightly more at 6,890 lbs (3,125 kg). These weight options provide customers with flexibility based on their specific needs.
One of the standout features of the Cybertruck is its impressive towing capacity. With a tow rating of 11,000 lbs (4,989 kg) and a max tongue weight of 1,100 lbs (499 kg), the Cybertruck is ready to handle heavy loads with ease. This makes it an ideal choice for those who require a powerful and capable vehicle for work or recreational purposes. It is unclear for which motor variant this towing specification is for.
The bed length of the Cybertruck measures at 72.8 inches (1.85 meters), providing ample space for cargo. Additionally, the bed width spans 51 inches (1.30 meters), allowing for easy loading and unloading of items. The frunk, or front trunk, offers a volume of 7.1 cubic feet (0.20 cubic meters), providing additional storage space for smaller items. The weight capacity of the frunk is 420 lbs (190 kg), further enhancing its practicality.
Moving on to the interior dimensions, the Cybertruck offers comfortable headroom and legroom for both the front and rear passengers. The front headroom measures at 41.6 inches (1.06 meters), while the rear headroom stands at 39 inches (0.99 meters). Legroom in the front is 41 inches (1.04 meters), with the rear legroom measuring slightly more at 40.9 inches (1.04 meters).
When it comes to shoulder room, the Cybertruck impresses with 63 inches (1.60 meters) in the front and 62 inches (1.57 meters) in the rear. This ensures that occupants have ample space to sit comfortably during their journey. Additionally, the hip room, which determines seat width, measures 57.2 inches (1.45 meters) for both the front and rear passengers.
It’s worth noting that while the Cybertruck offers generous interior dimensions, it does not feature outlets in the front. However, there are two outlets in the rear, including one 120v outlet and one 220v outlet, providing convenient power options for various needs.
Based on the dimensions, the Cybertruck’s interior is comparable to that of a Chevy Avalanche, with similar width at the hips. This explains the absence of a 6th seat, but also suggests that the rear seat may be narrower, akin to a Toyota Tacoma. However, the Cybertruck’s superior shoulder width offers added comfort compared to the Tacoma.
In conclusion, the rumored specifications of the Cybertruck highlight its impressive dimensions and capabilities. With its unique design and robust construction, the Cybertruck is poised to revolutionize the pickup truck market. Whether it’s the overall length, width, height, towing capacity, or interior dimensions, the Cybertruck sets a new standard in electric vehicles. Stay tuned for more updates as Tesla continues to refine and develop this groundbreaking vehicle.
